Long gone
are the days when the neighborhood boys played football in the Whitfields'
grassy lot bordered by cemetery plots on three sides and McClung Avenue on the
fourth. One winter in the early 1960s, sledders sledded down the hill on the
north side, fearless of anything other than the sun's effect on the snow. I
know, I was one of them. Now walkers walk and bicyclers bike though the narrow
streets in the early mornings and evenings. Maple Hill is on the National
Register of Historic Places, and websites about this beautiful resting place
abound. However, the best place to start your search, be it for a grave or a cemetery
event, is the city of Huntsville's website:

A Yelp review states that Wes’ Barber shop is “a traditional barber shop in the fullest
sense of the word. The real deal. Dependable service, great cuts, and they do
beards very very well! Always a pleasure. Loyal customer for 7 years.”
